Delphene (Blair) Tompkins

My dad worked for Wells for 48 years beginning in 1923 and retired in 1971. I believe he is the longest tenured employee of Wells. The Wells family have to this day been very good to my family. Dad met my mom when she worked in the office at Wells & he was a route driver, they were married in 1940 and were married 54 years until her death in 1994 & dad's in 1996. In the book The Wells Spring, there are mentions of dad & mom, a group photo (dad is pictured). I have fond memories of the plant in Sioux City & the guys who worked there. Dad brought Greg & Mike Wells up through the ranks when they were young men teaching them the ropes (he was the inside foreman). One of the conference rooms in the old corporate offices was named the Blair Room after my dad. I am & will always be indebted to Wells for their kindness to my folks & the excellent ice cream. Keep up the good work!!
