A few years ago, I made a list of cities in North America that I wanted to visit, but never had. Those cities were San Diego, Memphis, San Antonio, Montreal and Seattle. Cindy and I went to Memphis for a long weekend about five years ago, so I got that city off my list.
I started to work for a company out of Montreal 4 1/2 years ago, so I've been to Montreal four or five times so far.
I've just crossed another city off my list. I'm in Seattle today. Actually, I'm coming home tonight. I've been out here for a couple days going through training with Shunyata, a manufacturer of very high end power conditioners and cabling for esoteric audio systems. We have partnered with Shunyata Research to represent and distribute their products in North America.
The weather here is typical of what you hear about Seattle - cool and alternately sunny, then damp. But it's still a wonderful place to come to.
Actually, we spent Wednesday evening over on Bainbridge Island, as Shunyata is located in the small town of Poulsbo, WA. We had to take a car ferry across Puget Sound to get to the island. Even though the weather wasn't great, it was still pretty cool.
The Bainbridge Island area is just gorgeous. I can't begin to tell you how lush and green it is. I wished I would have brought my camera to take pictures. But since we were out in Seattle for only two nights, I wanted to pack light.
We spent last evening in the Lower Queen Anne section of Seattle, an area with a variety of eclectic shops and restaurants. I'll have a report on one or two of places we ate at while we were out here in the coming days.
I'm hoping we can come back out to Seattle sometime when the weather is nicer. And even though the traffic sucks, the area is simply beautiful.

A correction, if I may. Bainbridge Island is a town, not the island where you were. Poulsbo and Bainbridge Island is located on the Kitsap peninsula. It's not an island. I lived in Seattle for sixteen years before finally moving 8 years ago to Albuquerque. You're right. The weather is dreary and the traffic is horrible. But it is still one of the most beautiful areas in the world.

Thanx for the clarification, Tom. I'll be sure to make that known in subsequent entries regarding my trip to Seattle.
