I always get kind of bummed out this time of year. I really love summer and the first of September signals that summer is going away. I like fall and everything, but summer is my favorite time of year.
And it was funny as I got up this morning and realized that it was September 1st and I thought, "Where did the summer go?" It just flew by this year. It seems like it was just the 4th of July a couple weeks ago. Maybe that's a manifestation of growing old.
The days are getting shorter and the weather is cooling down (although it could reach 90 around here next week - again). The growing season is winding down and that bums me out, as well.
So today starts what is known as the "Meteorlogical Fall" - which is September, October and November. Given how quickly the "Meteorlogical Summer" went by, it won't be long before we see snow.
And that REALLY bums me out.
