Happy Thanksgiving! As much as I hate holidays, this is still one of my favorite times of the year.
I really don't care for turkey all that much. Oh, I'll eat it if it's in front of me, but I'd rather have something else at Thanksgiving.
I bought a 5.6 pound piece of beef tenderloin to cook on the grill. Cindy talked me into cutting it in half and cooking one half today and putting the other half in the freezer.
Along with my garlic/cream cheese mashed potatoes and my Italian bread stuffing, I did up dinner tonight for the two of us. Believe me, we have a ton of food left over. That's OK, though. It won't go to waste.
I always take pictures of what I put on the grill for my co-workers up in Canada. I don't mean to rub their faces into it, but they really do love to see what I'm cooking on the grill. Especially if it's beef.
Here's a picture of the "half" beef tenderloin on the grill. It was still a substantial piece of meat.
Here's the picture of what the tenderloin looked like when I sliced it up. Jesus, it was outstanding.
Coming up, a standing rib roast on the smoker at Christmas time.
